Janet was born into a wealthy family. She never got along with her parents. She always felt like an outcast. That is until she met Kaylee's father, Terry Ravensworth. They met and fell in love. Her father wanted her to stop seeing him and gave her an ultimatum. When Janet chose Terry her family cut off all ties with her. Janet, Terry and Kaylee were one small happy family until the day Terry died in a horrible hit and run. Janet changed. She had been pregnant at the time but she lost the baby and she closed herself off.
When she finally come around years had went by and she didn't want anything to do with her daughter. She was a reminder of a painful past. She turned to booze and men to take the pain away. A woman who husband she was sleeping with offered her money to get out of town and so Janet took it thinking there were plenty more men. The condition was she had to act like Kaylee's mother. Act like a mother period. Janet could only do that for so many months before she left Kaylee behind.
She always kept tabs on Kaylee throughout the years but then she got involved with some dangerous people. She ended up pregnant and thinking of no other thing to do she went to see her daughter. She ended up leaving her son there and leaving for parts unknown.
